Denver Marathon $15 Registration Discount

in Races

I just received this note in my email this morning, and thought I’d pass it along:

REGISTRATION ALERT – Registration for the 2009 Denver Marathon, Half Marathon and ING Marathon Relay opens Friday, January 30th. $15 off registration for three days only! Offer expires at midnight, February, 1st. Enter promo code RUN09 to redeem.

Join us on October 18, 2009 for the Denver Marathon – a premier marathon, half-marathon and four-person ING Marathon Relay. This world-class event is Colorado’s largest marathon and features a spectacular (and flat!) route highlighting all of Denver with incredible views of the mountains and the biggest post-race party in the Rockies!

Field size increased to 12,000 runners and is expected to sell out early. Register early to ensure your spot in Colorado’s premier marathon!

To register and get more information, visit denvermarathon.com.

I’m not quite sure what the entry fees are going to be this year, but last year’s early entry fee was $55 for the half marathon and $85 for the full marathon, so this looks like a pretty decent discount. I was thinking about doing the half marathon anyway, so I think I’ll go ahead and sign up early to take advantage of this.

I’m not sure if the Denver Marathon can really bill itself as “flat”

It’s not hilly, but I’m not sure if I would call it flat.

Just quoting what they sent me, Run Colorado. ;-)

I was supposed to run the half a couple of years ago but didn’t get to because I ended up having to be out of town. I’ll check out the course – I’m guessing it’s less hilly then Boulder Backroads though?

Oh how tempting! I would love to run Denver but think I’m sticking with the Twin Cities in Oct.

Good luck with Twin Cities, Rachel!

It does have that “hill” going up 17th Avenue. Did you know that the folks that do the Rock and Roll marathons bought out The Denver Marathon?

I just heard about that, Dave. Not quite sure how I feel about it. I have run Rock ‘n Roll Virginia Beach and liked it, but I don’t know that the whole rock ‘n roll thing needs to take over all of the distance races.
