Run Faster Links of the Week - February 10, 2008
This week’s links are to the running podcasts I listen to. If you have any favorites, I’d love to hear about them in the comments.
- Dump Runner’s Club - The host of this podcast, Matt Tatar (a fellow Coloradan), mixes things up quite a bit on this podcast. He gives some great workout tips, sprinkles in some running news, and talks about his running and how he’s training for his next race. This podcast is generally produced weekly, and comes in at about 20 minutes. Not to be missed!
- Phedippidations - Steve Walker (a.k.a. Steve Runner) is perhaps the first podcaster that actually began recording his podcast while he runs. In Steve’s weekly, hour + long podcasts, he usually focuses on one running-related subject at a time - a ‘Running Legend’, a training-related subject, or a race he’s recently run. If you’re turned off by occasional talk of religious beliefs or goofy skits, this may not be the podcast for you, but if you think you might be inspired by a middle-aged, middle-of-pack runner’s quest to break 4 hours in the marathon, it’s worth a listen.
- PodRunner - This is an all-music podcast (other than a short spoken introduction with some advertising content) which is designed for workouts. DJ Steve classifies all his podcasts by beat per minute, so it’s easy to choose which to listen to based on the intensity you want to run. If you don’t like fast-paced dance music, you probably won’t like his selections, but they seem to be the perfect distraction for me when I need some help trying to keep on pace.
Doesn’t look like I’m going to be getting in any running this weekend - I seem to have developed a heel injury that’s even making walking sort of painful. I hope the rest of you have had a good weekend that includes some running.
